This week for Language Arts we presented our presentation on Growth Mindset. The point of the presentation was to educate our peers on important topics in education and how they relate to literacy. Each group member had a different aspect of growth mindset. My part of the presentation was to research about activities that teachers can use in class in order to foster a growth mindset. I discovered through my research about a program called Brainology. Unfortunately, I was unable to find out that much about the program. What I was able to find out is that it is a series of short games that students can play that promote a growth mindset in students. We found lots of activities that a teacher can do with their class to help students change a fixed mindset. One great activity is to take fixed mindset statements and turn them into growth mindset statements. This can be used as a bulletin board display or an anchor chart that can be referenced all year long.
My group members had a variety of tasks. One group member had the pleasure of reading Carol Dweck's book. She is known as the guru of the growth mindset
